ATTORNEY PLATT: RELEASE VIDEO AND CHARGE BOULAY

CALL TO ACTION: DEMAND JUSTICE FROM MAUREEN PLATT FOR JAYSON NEGRON'S CASE BY:
1. RELEASINGTHE VIDEO OF JAYSON'S DEATH
2. CHARGING OFFICER JAMES BOULAY

Maureen Platt in Waterbury is the State's Attorney in charge of Jayson's case. This means she is in possession of all evidence related to this case. This does not mean she's the judge and jury, she does decide whether or not Boulay is innocent or guilty - BUT SHE CAN DECIDE THAT THERE IS PROBABLE CAUSE THAT A CRIME WAS COMMITTED AND THAT THE CASE SHOULD BE BROUGHT IN VIEW OF THE PUBLIC.

After signing this petition, we ask that you call Maureen Platt's office (203-236-8130) to 1) demand transparency in the investigation and the release of all video evidence of the circumstances around Jayson's death 2) demand that James Boulay be indicted for murdering Jayson.

Suggested Script:

My name is _________ and I'm calling to speak with Maureen Platt. It has been 8 months since Jayson Negron was killed by Bridgeport Police Officer James Boulay on May 9th 2017. I am calling to demand transparency in the investigation and the release of all video evidence of the circumstances around Jayson's death. We believe there is enough evidence to charge James Boulay with criminal conduct in the murder of Jayson Negron.

Our states attorney's system is responsible for holding officers accountable when they brutalize and kill people in our communities. The community is watching this process and we demand Justice for Jayson.

Why is this important?

#JUSTICEFORJAYSON #SIXMONTHSTOOLONG

Over six months have passed since we lost Jayson Negron, leaving his family and community without answers as to why he, an unarmed 15-year-old, was killed by the Bridgeport Police Department. On May 9th, 2017, after being shot several times from close range in the chest by Officer James Boulay, Jayson was left without emergency medical attention for over 20 minutes. A video released by a community bystander shows his head moved as he was lying on the ground, after the professionals on the scene pronounced him supposedly dead. His body was then left there for 6 hours. THE BRIDGEPORT POLICE DEPARTMENT IS NEGLIGENT AND NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. Six months prior to Jayson's killing, there was outcry against Officer Boulay for assaulting another community member. He has continued to be paid and employed by the Bridgeport Police Department, even though he is a threat to the very community he is supposed to defend.
We finally might be in a time where police officers can be held accountable for this abuse. In our movement for Justice for Jayson, we honor Mike Brown, Tamir Rice, Miriam Carey, Yvette Smith, Eric Garner, Philando Castile, Walter Scott, Oscar Grant, and all the victims and survivors of police brutality and their families.

MAUREEN PLATT - WE DEMAND THAT YOU JOIN US IN DOING WHAT IS RIGHT AND JUST. We cannot bring these lives back, but we can bring justice and honor to their names by ensuring steps are taken to end police brutality.
