Hands Off My Body. Eyes Off My Data

Dear Congresswoman Williams,

I am writing to you as both a concerned citizen and the organizer of the petition "Hands Off My Body. Eyes Off My Data", which calls for Congress to take decisive action to overturn the recent Supreme Court decision striking down Roe v. Wade.

Your leadership in Georgia and your unwavering commitment to reproductive freedom have been a source of inspiration to me and countless others. In particular, your 2024 introduction of a resolution declaring abortion a human right; framing it as a public health, social justice, and human rights issue, has been a rallying point for our campaign. That resolution reminded us that protecting reproductive autonomy is not only a legal matter but a moral imperative.

The Court’s decision does not merely impact abortion rights, it also exposes women to new and dangerous forms of surveillance. With reproductive healthcare criminalized in many states, data from period-tracking apps, location histories, and online search records can now be weaponized against women seeking or considering reproductive care. This is a direct violation of our privacy, our dignity, and our constitutional rights.

Our campaign’s mission is to ensure that no woman is forced to choose between her health and her safety. We urge you to champion legislation that will:

  1. Restore the federal right to abortion.

  2. Enact robust federal protections for reproductive health data to prevent its misuse by law enforcement or private entities.

  3. Strengthen digital privacy laws to safeguard personal information in the post-Roe era.

Congresswoman Williams, your voice carries tremendous weight in the fight for both reproductive justice and data privacy. We ask you to stand with us once again, just as you did in 2024, and work toward legislation that ensures our bodies and our data remain ours alone.

Thank you for your courage, your advocacy, and your unwavering dedication to the rights and freedoms of women in Georgia and across the country. I would welcome the opportunity to share our petition and campaign plans with your office at your earliest convenience.

In solidarity,

N. Randall
Organizer, Hands Off My Body. Eyes Off My Data

Why is this important?

The "Hands Off My Body. Eyes Off My Data" campaign is about protecting both our reproductive rights and our right to privacy. In the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, millions of women have lost critical access to healthcare and now face the added threat of being tracked, monitored, and prosecuted through their own personal data. Period-tracking apps, location services, and online searches can be used as evidence against women simply for making choices about their own bodies. This is not just a women’s issue it is a human rights issue that impacts everyone who values freedom, dignity, and autonomy. By joining our campaign, you are standing up for safe, accessible reproductive healthcare and strong protections for personal data. Together, we can push lawmakers to restore federal abortion rights and create ironclad privacy laws that keep our most personal information safe. Your voice matters and when we speak together, change becomes possible!
