TO BE COVID FREE THEY MUST BE FREED
We want the immediate release of people who are currently incarcerated to keep them safe from COVID-19. These people are elders, most who have been incarcerated for more than 25 years, people with underlying conditions, people who are to be released in the latter part of the year, non-violent offenders and ALL WHO HAVE A HOME TO GO TO. Our organization, BAR NONE, has an active list of 35 people who are currently incarcerated around this country that have somewhere SAFE to go with people who love them. Some of those people are Political Prisoners and can be viewed on our website, http://www.bar-none.net/. Others are here in Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi.
Let's not turn prisons and jails into unmarked tombs and mortuaries.
Why is this important?
The COVID-19 pandemic is continuously destroying one of the most vulnerable groups, people who are incarcerated; leaving their families worried, fearful and often grief stricken.
And the only disparities are that they are incarcerated and most of them are people of Afrikan/African descent. They are left to stew in place as we learn of their deaths only as an afterthought.
We don't want to turn prisons and jails into unmarked tombs and mortuaries.
