Urge Arizona Governor Doug Ducey to freeze rent, mortgage, and bill payments during COVID-19 Crisis

Urge Arizona Governor Doug Ducey to freeze rent, mortgage, and bill payments during COVID-19 Crisis

Petition: Proposing a 90-day rent freeze to help abate the economic strain being placed on households and businesses hit the hardest by the pandemic in Arizona. A suspension that would apply to residential and commercial tenants who would have 90 days of rent forgiven if they lose work or are forced to close due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Why is this important?

Petitioning has the potential to enact real change, but it’s also your fundamental right as an American citizen, and an opportunity to connect with a community of like-minded people who are invested in making a change. Ideally, running a petition is just the start of something bigger — a long-term, robust form of civic engagement.

“There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but he must take it because conscience tells him it is right.” ― Martin Luther King Jr.

Reasons for signing

  • I am on an hours freeze. Zero hours means zero income. I’m a single mom 2 kids in college and 1 still at home. A freeze on my rent and car payment would dramatically help during this time.
  • Let's be realistic about this. This is going to last longer than just this month and maybe even next month. I see people out every where. No one is taking it as serious as they should. Once we have no more medical staff, because they are in the line of fire, then people will see why this should had been taken more seriously.
